The Currency of Chaos:

Why I Stepped Off the Algorithm’s Edge

Early this morning after saying goodbye, and good luck to my granddaughter as she and family left for an early morning girls’ softball double header, with a fresh cup of morning coffee and in the quiet of what promised to be the picture of a peaceful Sunday morning. Then, out of sheer curiosity, I opened an old digital dashboard.

Instantly, my screen was flooded with an aggressive wave of flashing red-and-black thumbnails. The headlines screamed from the glass with frantic, apocalyptic urgency: “Damascus Burns.” “The Coming War.” “Six Pastors who believe The Rapture could happen at any moment.” Sitting right alongside them was the relentless, heavy thrum of the upcoming election cycle–every voice shouting that things are getting out of hand, that the sky is falling, and that we are all on the precipice of total destruction. I sat there in absolute amazement, my mouth nearly on the floor.

Years ago, I used to follow four out of those six very teachers. I used to let those frantic broadcasts dictate the rhythm of my heart rate. But looking at them today, the illusion was completely gone. It didn’t look powerful or profound anymore. It just looked incredibly hollow, exhausting and foolish. It was pure, unadulterated fear porn.

Fear porn is the most lucrative currency on the modern web. It is algorithmically engineered to keep your soul in a constant state of panic. It wants you to lock your doors, freeze your hands, and stop planting seeds, building families, or honoring legacy. It whispers that because everything is collapsing tomorrow, nothing you do matters. But as I looked at those frantic thumbnails, a single, definitive question flashed through my mind:

What was finished?

Two thousand years ago, the Master Potter stood in the center of cosmic chaos and declared three permanent words: “It is finished.” He wasn’t talking about a temporary political administration. He wasn’t talking about a passing season of worldly text streams or election anxiety. He was declaring that the final, permanent victory over fear, destruction, and death was eternally locked in stone. The foundation is already completed. The victory is secure. The storm can rage all it wants across the news, but it cannot touch the finished architecture of grace.

The fear-mongers want us to view our Creator through the lens of terror, painting a picture of an angry judge waiting to smash the world to pieces. But they completely miss the breathtaking greatness of His character. Our Creator is not a destroyer; He is a relentless, loving pursuer. Look at the architecture of creation itself. Long before Day Six–long before humanity ever drew its first breath or made its first mistake–our Creator was busy structuring the depths of the ocean. He was sculpting the sand dollar, etching a hidden five-fold star on its face, and sealing it with the shapes of lilies and poinsettias. He built a permanent testament of grace and resilience right into the shoreline before we even existed!

His rescue plan was already signed, sealed, and delivered before the foundations of human history were even laid. His promise that He would never leave us or forsake us, that He would step into His own creation to rescue us, to take our punishment is so way beyond human understanding and comprehension. And yet He keeps lovingly pursuing because He is pure love.

When the screaming voices on the internet and all forms of communication talk about judgement, they look at it as cruel, vindictive punishment. But they don’t understand the heart of the Father. His judgment is not punishment–it is an unhurried, beautiful refinement.

Like a master silversmith sitting over the furnace, He uses the heat of challenging times not to destroy the metal, but to burn away the artificial dross and the fear. His shaking is always designed to wake us up, to pull us out of the algorithmic trap, and to send our steps in a brand-new, vastly superior direction. He breaks the old chains so we can finally step into our true crowns.

Lately, my website traffic has experienced an explosive, international surge. Readers are locking in from the United States, Europe, Canada, Taiwan, India, and Nigeria. At first, I wondered why. But looking at the screen today, the answer became crystal clear. The world is completely starved for bread. People are drowning in a daily diet of panic, and they are desperately searching for a shoreline that doesn’t shake. They don’t need another adrenaline rush of terror; they need a sanctuary that reminds them of the true greatness of our Creator, His finished victory, and what survived.

We have to see that a Creator who created the sand dollar and engraved His plan of redemption and His eternal love in the calcium carbonate the day before He created the human race in His own image, He is not about destruction and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. And even AI could not find one single scripture that says He will allow His creation to be completely destroyed, rather His structure has built in correction. It is all there if you want to know and seek to find.

We are not the children of panic. We are the children of resilience, creativity, and legacy. We are the children of those who refused to die. So tonight, I invite you to step completely off the algorithm’s edge. Turn off the screaming broadcasts. Mute the fear porn. Step out into the fresh air, check on your garden, hug the ones you love, and rest your mind in absolute, unhurried peace. Remember:

He even stepped into his own creation, to bring us back through Jesus.

Think about the immense, mind-blowing weight of that truth: The majestic, infinite Creator who sculpted the stars and etched the face of the sand dollar before Day Six didn’t just sit back on a distant throne watching us wander into the dark. He physically stepped out of eternity and walked straight into the dirt of His own canvas. He took on human flesh, breathed our air, and walked right into the middle of our broken, chaotic world to personally gather us up in His arms and carry us back home through Jesus!

That is not the action of a distant, angry judge waiting to destroy the world on the nightly news. That is the action of a Relentless, Radical, Infinite Lover who will stop at absolutely nothing to rescue His children!
