The Western Way: High Overhead and Control vs The African Way: Carefree Resilience
The Search for Solomon: There was something about Solomon and his very insightful statement in Ecclesiastes 1:4 that just didn’t sound like the Solomon I learned about over the years. “A Generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever!!!!!! Because i wanted, rather I needed to uncover and understand the raw, unadulterated truth behind why the wealthiest, wisest king on earth possessed that unhurried perspective. So, I bypassed the modern theological checklists and performed a deep dive straight back into the bedrock code of 1 Chronicles 17:13 and 2 Samuel 7:13-14. ESV
I Will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. I will not take my steadfast love from him as I took it from him who was before you, 1Chronicles 17:13 ESV
He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever…
I Will be to him a father and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I Will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men….
but My steadfast love will not depart from him…. 2 Samuel 7:13-15 ESV
Can you see it? Can you see the truth? Can you see the unconditional covenant? Can you see the steadfast love? These were all words spoken by the LORD of Hosts through Nathan the prophet, given to David in regard to his future son. Solomon’s eternal security and mercy were signed, sealed, and locked by the Potter years before the boy was even biologically conceived in his mother’s womb. The Creator explicitly decreed:
I Will not take my steadfast love from him….
Making his security completely independent of future human overdoing and proving that absolutely no one down in their legalistic religious sandboxes can ever claim Solomon didn’t make it to heaven.
The Day 5 Shoreline: Living in Finished Resilience
Before a single human foot stepped onto the dirt on Day 6 to begin arguing over legal parameters, managing high overhead machinery, or building defensive organizational sandboxes–the Creator had already spoken Day 5 into a state of absolute, self-sustaining abundance. Think about the exquisite design of the oceans on Day 5:
- The Unhurried Marine Blueprint: He populated the seas with life that doesn’t need to strive, build an empire, or earn its keep. Deep beneath the surface, the intricate pattern of the sand dollar was already a finished architectural reality, hardwired into the physical masonry of the earth as a sovereign law, proving the original promise “all will know me” requires zero human management or corporate machinery to keep it secure. The Creator said at Day 5 through the sand dollar to us who were made in His image on Day 6, that his love is and this is My promise, to last forever. Then again in 2 Samuel 7:13-15, The LORD of Hosts makes an unconditional covenant with David through Nathan the prophet, His kingdom will be forever and that His love will be steadfast forever!
The Contrast of the Two Ways: The Western Way vs The African Way
Just in case you are wondering what I am talking about: The images below of the saran wrap used below the PCH and the changing shoreline, reminded me of flood images I saw from Accra, Ghana flood videos.

My young 9-year-old granddaughter was looking over my shoulder at all my pictures and asked a simple question, “What’s it going to get them Grandma?” I don’t know, both ways look pretty helpless, but I vote for the African way, at least they are standing together, laughing and having fun, even singing, they simply adapt, maintain their carefree joy, and let the ocean be sovereign.
Day 5 with emphasis on the creation of the sand dollar, with the redemption story engraved deeply into the calcium carbonate of the remaining shell and the release of the five doves after cracking the shell shows life does continue, forever as the LORD of Hosts says in 2 Samuel 7:13-15 and 1 Chronicles 17:13 and as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 1:4:
A generation goes and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever!
